Julie Larabee Baumgardner has
announced her candidacy for election for Wood County Recorder.
In announcing, Baumgardner said, “Sue Kinder has done a wonderful
job maintaining a high quality of service over the past 21 years
in the recorder’s office. I want to work hard to carry
on the excellent work that Sue has done.”
Baumgardner worked for five and a half years in the recorder’s
office before joining DMC Consulting Inc. as a computer consultant
where she has helped automate billing and payroll services for both
private industry and public agencies. DMC worked with the recorder’s
office to help automate its processes while Baumgardner was in
the recorder's office. She is a graduate of Bowling Green High
School
and of the ComTech program at University of Toledo.
“
My experience in the recorder’s office, along with my private
sector experience related to technology, will help the recorder’s
office deal with future technology changes. One thing I would like
to do is make more information available online, with the appropriate
security measures,” she said.

Biography
I am Julie Larabee Baumgardner and I am running for Wood County
Recorder. Currently, I work DMC Consulting, Inc a computer software
development company. I have been with the company for ten years
writing software for both private and public companies. I have
created payroll, manufacturing, and scheduling packages, just to
name a few, for these companies.
The last five years, I have been
on a team that works with District, Circuit, Juvenile, and Probate
courts. While on that team I have developed
collection, check writing, electronic transfer, random judge selection,
and calendaring software.
Before this I worked in the Wood County
Recorder’s office for over five years under the current recorder
Sue Kinder. My job duties included recording documents, writing
legal descriptions, entering information in to the computer system,
and helping the public by phone or in person look up their property’s
history or the information about a piece of property they were
interested in buying. I would like to carry on the excellent service
the recorder’s office currently provides.
I believe my previous
experience in the office will help me do this. Also, my experience
as a software developer will help me continue to make the necessary
technological changes to continue to expand that service to the
internet and further enhance the service the office provides.
My husband is a third generation Wood County farmer and we have a three year
old son, Jacob. I know what it takes to make a budget, process payroll, and help
keep a small business running.
I am also the daughter of Ruth Larabee, the former
director of Job and Family Services in Wood County, who instilled in me the importance
of public service. I believe keeping the records of the county is an important
public service and with my experience both professionally and privately I will
be able to provide this public service with my term as Wood County Recorder.
